If you haven't already watched the pilot of Glee, I strongly suggest you do it now. It is not without its flaws, but even so I'm really looking forward to it's run in the fall. I can't get enough of the final musical number. Genius!

I worked the lunch shift and just got home from babysitting, and I am tired. It hurts to hold my head up. :(
Finally saw Watchmen. It was totally worth it to see it on the big theater screen. The soundtrack alone was a major squee point.

Sleep now, more tomorrow.
One of the little kids I babysit has a bunch of bath toys shaped like sea animals, much like these. They're all cute and fun to play with, but I especially love the octopus. It's not anatomically correct (it's squirter is placed on the face, like a mouth or nose), and every time I see it it makes me think of Cthulhu. Specifically, My Little Cthulhu.

Excuse my blasphemy here, but how awesome would a line of Elder Gods bath toys be? They came from the deepest depths... of your bubble bath.
“...the body, step by step, teeters on the edge of catastrophe” (Napier, 1967, p.56).

I feel this quote, while referring to bipedalism, is actually an amazingly accurate analysis of my life. Definitely much more accurate than the horoscopes my coworkers keep referring me to.

Isn't it lovely?

One identification down, three evaluations of my classmates' identifications to go. And then, my fourth and last Anthropology test before the final. Hurrah.
Okay, I'm cheating a little bit here, but I'm babysitting from 1-4:30 in Redondo and then 5-? in El Segundo. Add in the double I worked yesterday, and I'm ready to sleep for a year.

In lieu of any real content I give you:

You're welcome.
Kate is the darling tiny brunette, and Riki is the endearing blond. Together, they are Garfunkel and Oates.

Medley from Riki Lindhome on Vimeo.

I love Kate Micucci from Elevator and her song Dear Deer, and Riki Lindhome was scary/sweet on Big Bang Theory as Sheldon's graduate groupie. Paired up, they are frankly just too adorable for words. You can listen to and download other mp3s on their site, or maybe watch a sassy video. Go! Enjoy!
An experiment, if you will. This is a brand-new journal, yet to be shared with anyone. Let's see if I can post something, anything, every single day. I've got a lot of plans for you, internet, but I seem to be having difficulty putting them into action. So I'm starting small. A tiny commitment. Not terribly tiny- I have a 5-year diary that only has enough space for about a sentence a day, and I can't even manage writing in that everyday. But tiny enough. Let's see how long I can keep it up, shall we?

Creative notes: I have 3 stories to illustrate, 2 from one television fandom, 1 from another. I've read one in it's entirety, and have somewhat of an idea for its illustration. The other two I've read enough to get ideas, but they both make me lean toward a particular media, and trying to do one that way in a month is already pushing it. We shall see!
And, lo, there was a dreamwidth journal. And it was moderately acceptable for the time being.

While it turns out that Rome was built in a day, I can say with certainty that this journal won't be. I woke up at 6:30 this morning, and will most likely do the same again tomorrow, so, with that depressing thought, I bid the internet goodnight.
